ARIA Scan Privacy Policy

ARIA Scan is a local-first purchase memory app provided by Estuaire Studio. This policy explains how the app handles information when you scan, import, enter, organize, sync, export, or share purchase records.

1. Information ARIA Scan handles

Depending on the features you use, ARIA Scan may handle:

  • receipt images that you capture or choose to import;
  • recognized receipt text, OCR confidence, and parsing evidence;
  • merchant and item details, dates, amounts, taxes, currency, categories, and notes;
  • warranties, return deadlines, reminders, and their status;
  • app settings, Pro entitlement status, sync status, and non-sensitive widget summaries.

Purchase records and saved receipt images stay on your device by default. ARIA Scan does not require an Estuaire Studio account.

2. Camera, Photos, Files, and receipt processing

Camera access is used only when you scan a receipt. Apple’s Photos and Files pickers give the app access only to the images or documents you choose. ARIA Scan does not browse your photo library or files in the background.

Apple Vision recognizes receipt text on your device. On supported devices and operating-system versions, ARIA Scan can also use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework to propose structured receipt details and purchase categories. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, disabled, not ready, unsupported for the current language, times out, or does not produce a result grounded in the receipt, ARIA Scan uses deterministic on-device parsing and local rules.

Receipt images, OCR text, amounts, and notes are not sent to Estuaire Studio or a third-party AI provider. Suggested details remain editable and do not silently replace information you saved.

3. Local storage and optional iCloud sync

ARIA Scan stores purchase records in its local app database and receipt images in the app’s private storage. App preferences and the limited summaries used by ARIA Scan widgets are also stored on your device.

If you enable Pro iCloud sync, ARIA Scan sends your purchase records, including saved OCR text and confidence, and your receipt images to a private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. This lets the library stay current across your Apple devices. Changes made while offline remain queued locally and retry when a connection is available.

Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Estuaire Studio does not use your iCloud purchase data for advertising, profiling, or analytics.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Optional monthly and annual subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime Pro purchase are processed by Apple through StoreKit. ARIA Scan receives product information, verified transaction results, and entitlement status so it can unlock Pro features. Estuaire Studio does not receive your full payment-card details. Purchase history and refunds are managed through your Apple Account.

5. Reminders, notifications, and widgets

Notification permission is optional. ARIA Scan uses it only for return and warranty reminders you choose to schedule. Notification previews use generic reminder text and do not include merchant names, item names, purchase amounts, receipt text, images, or notes.

If you add an ARIA Scan widget, iOS can display non-sensitive counts, reminder status, and dates from a local app-group summary. Receipt details stay in the app.

6. Diagnostics, support, and tracking

ARIA Scan contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not use an advertising identifier or track you across apps or websites. Operational logs exclude receipt contents, OCR text, merchant and item names, amounts, notes, and images.

The app can prepare a support summary containing the app version and build, iOS version, purchase and receipt-page counts, iCloud sync status, and plan status. This summary stays on your device unless you choose Share Diagnostics or Email Support. It does not include receipt contents, merchant or item names, amounts, notes, or images.

Apple may provide App Store or TestFlight sales, crash, and tester-feedback information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy. If you contact Estuaire Studio, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to answer your message.

7. Export, sharing, retention, and deletion

  • Local purchase records and receipt images remain until you delete them in ARIA Scan or remove the app from your device.
  • Turning off iCloud sync stops future syncing but does not delete the local library or data already stored in your private CloudKit database.
  • When iCloud sync is enabled, Delete Synced Data removes the local library and queues deletion from the private CloudKit database. Queued deletion completes when a connection is available.
  • A structured JSON export is created only when you request it. The temporary export is removed when you leave Settings, prepare a replacement export, or delete your ARIA Scan data.
  • Receipt images, exports, and diagnostics leave the app only when you choose a share or save action. After that, the destination you selected controls its copy.

8. Children and policy changes

ARIA Scan is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. If this policy changes materially, Estuaire Studio will update the effective date and the policy available from the app and this website.
