Start with one expense, check the details, then choose the capture method that fits your day.
01 · GET STARTED
Start small. Check the result.
- Choose the Neole list where you want to keep the expense.
- Use manual entry to add the merchant and amount. Check the date, category, and whether it is an expense or income, then save.
- Find the entry in your activity and check its details. Edit anything that needs correcting.
For voice capture, begin with one short phrase that includes the amount and merchant. Review the recognized details and correct them when needed. Manual entry is always an alternative to speech.
02 · OPTIONAL SHORTCUTS
Connect the card you choose.
Apple Pay capture needs an automation you create in Apple’s Shortcuts app. Neole does not read your full Wallet history or bank-app notifications.
- In Shortcuts, create a personal Transaction automation for the Wallet card you want to track. The trigger’s name can vary by iOS version.
- Add Neole’s expense-logging action. Pass the transaction’s merchant and amount into the matching fields, and choose the destination list if offered.
- Save and enable the automation. After an eligible card transaction, check Neole’s activity and complete any entry needing attention before relying on the setup.
Available triggers depend on your device and card. Do not assume an online Apple Pay purchase will trigger the same automation.

Keep capture recoverable.
Voice capture is unavailable or misheard an amount
Check Neole’s microphone and Speech Recognition permissions in your device settings. Try a short phrase in a supported language, or enter the expense manually. Check the amount and category rather than assuming the recognition was correct.
An Apple Pay expense did not appear
Check that the automation is enabled for the card you used and that merchant and amount are passed to Neole. Look through recent activity and any entries awaiting review before adding it manually, so you do not create a duplicate.
I need to correct or keep a copy of my data
Edit the entry’s details in Neole. Use the app’s CSV export when you need a copy of your records. Do not delete or reinstall a local-first app as a troubleshooting step without first protecting your data.
04 · PLANS AND PURCHASES
Know what you are choosing.
Neole is free to download, with Individual and Family subscriptions. Check the app for current plans, prices, and any introductory offer available to your Apple Account.
If a purchase is not recognized, confirm that you are using the Apple Account that made it and use the app’s restore-purchases option. Contact us if access is still missing.
